Welcome to Bugpapa.
Bugpapa is a small labor of love — free, joyful early-learning content for kids. I’m a parent to a five-year-old — my in-house quality-control expert.
How Bugpapa started
Bugpapa started as little songs and games I was making for my own child, and somewhere along the way I realized I wanted to share them with other families too. The Bugpapa YouTube channel was born on December 30, 2022, and it’s grown song by song ever since — each one shaped by one very specific five-year-old who tells me which ideas are worth keeping.
About the name
“Bugpapa” came from a simple wish: I wanted a name kids could actually remember. Something short, soft, a little silly, and easy to say with a smile. Bugpapa fit.
What I make
Bugpapa is home to catchy tunes, bright visuals, and gentle games designed around the building blocks of the English language and early-childhood fundamentals:
- ABC Phonics Song — sing-along letter sounds that grow into early reading skills.
- ASL Alphabet — introducing little hands to American Sign Language, one letter at a time.
- ABC Magnet Game — our newest launch! An interactive way to play with letters right on the page.
- Counting, Shapes & Colors — foundational concepts taught through music and movement.
- Songs & Stories — original tunes and read-alongs made for short attention spans and big imaginations.
- Games — relaxed, screen-friendly play that reinforces what kids have just learned.
What I believe
I think early learning should be fun, relaxed, and cozy — the kind of thing kids want to rewind and watch again. So I put a lot of care into:
- Clean, friendly visuals that feel calm rather than overstimulating.
- Clear communication — no rushing, no yelling, no confusing edits.
- Catchy tunes that parents can sing along to without losing their minds.
- Diversity and inclusion woven into characters, stories, and music, because every child deserves to see themselves in what they watch.
Who Bugpapa is for
The home base is preschool through Kindergarten 2 — the sweet spot for learning the alphabet, counting, shapes, colors, and first words. But Bugpapa is also for anyone of any age who’s picking up a second language and wants friendly, no-pressure lessons. ASL learners, ESL learners, and curious grown-ups are always welcome here.
What’s next: Bugpapa-PH
I’m excited to share that my next big project is Bugpapa-PH — a Filipino-language channel bringing the same songs, stories, and games to kids and families learning Tagalog. Stay tuned.
My promise to families
I take children’s privacy and well-being seriously. Bugpapa is designed as child-directed content, which means only non-personalized advertising is served, and I don’t collect personal information from kids. You can read more in the Privacy Policy.
